Please note that blasting operations will take place at the future Rideau Station east entrance site at the corner of Rideau Street and the William Pedestrian Mall as part of the O-Train Confederation Line light rail transit project. The blasting is expected to commence on October 7, 2015 and continue until February 2016, weather permitting.
The blasting operation will be conducted intermittently Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
All blast vibration levels are carefully monitored to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines, regulations and to alleviate potential damage to nearby structures.
Prior to each blast, the blast site will be cleared of all persons and secured. This will be followed by a series of warning whistles that will be sounded to alert all people within the blasting vicinity:
– Five short whistles – One minute to blast
– Three short whistles – Blast is imminent
– One long whistle – Blast is all clear
