Lane reduction on Rideau St. starting Sept. 12

Rideau Street will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Elgin Street and Mackenzie Avenue starting Monday, September 12. The reductions are needed to complete road and utility work which is expected to last until the end of October.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction period and public transit is expected to operate as usual.

This work is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
