In-Progress
Rideau Street — Sussex/Colonel By to Dalhousie
William Mall — William Street between Rideau and George
Claridge Royale — 245 Rideau at Cumberland
Claridge Homes has changed its proposal to remove a hotel as part of a mixed-use project at the site of the former Metro supermarket on 245 Rideau Street and instead plans to build more residential units on the property. The application is to construct three towers of 18, 26 and 27 storeys. The buildings would rise above a two-storey podium that’s expected to feature a 35,000-square-foot Metro store to replace the former supermarket on the site. Under a site plan revision recently submitted at City Hall, the developer says it wants to replace the hotel with another apartment building. The revised proposal calls for a total of 745 residential suites in the three buildings (two apartments, one condo). An underground parking garage would provide spaces for 385 vehicles.
The Charlotte — Rideau at Charlotte
The Charlotte exemplifies the principle of seamless integration with the neighbourhood. The Charlotte’s presence is organic – a natural addition to a traditional neighbourhood punctuated with tall trees and old homes. Rising 14 storeys with 197 suites, The Charlotte is a blend of brick and precast, with ribbons of brick rising from street level to the third-floor tower and to the sixth-floor on the adjacent podium.
Rideau & Chapel — Opening 2022
A community on the rise, this site is located at the epicentre of a sweeping revitalization extending eastward along Rideau Street. With close proximity to the Rideau Centre – an Ottawa fashion destination – and steps from the University of Ottawa, Chateau Laurier, the Rideau Canal, Parliament Hill and bustling downtown; Rideau & Chapel only becomes more desirable with the soon-to-be-built Rideau Station along the Confederation Line. Retail 9,500 sq.ft.; Residential Phase I (315 units); 335,000 sq.ft.; Residential Phase II (318 units) 284,000 sq.ft
