Overnight work on Rideau Station June 4-5

This notice is to advise that, as part of the O-Train Confederation Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) Project, crews will be working overnight this weekend to install a crane at Rideau Station east entrance.

WHAT: A tower crane will be installed overnight at the Rideau Station east entrance to be used as part of construction at the site until next year.
WHY: Work is being done overnight in order to minimize overall impacts on stakeholders and vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
WHEN: Starting at 9 p.m. on June 4, ending around 11 a.m. June 5.
WHERE: At the now-closed Scotiabank site at the corner of Rideau and William streets.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Rideau and William streets will be closed intermittently as the installation proceeds through the night.

PEDESTRIAN & CYCLIST IMPACTS: Work will begin at 9 p.m. with the closure of the sidewalk in front of the east entrance from William Street to the Urban Outfitters next to the Scotiabank site. Pedestrians and cyclists will be re-routed from the west to the south side of Rideau Street, and from the east a flagman will
be on site to assist with crossing.

RESIDENTIAL & BUSINESS IMPACTS: Noise impacts will be low to moderate.
