Downtown Rideau BIA Welcomes Provincial Colleagues to OBIAA Conference in Ottawa

(Ottawa) – From March 31– April 3, 2019 the Downtown Rideau Business Improvement Area (DRBIA) and Ontario Business Improvement Area Association (OBIAA) are thrilled to welcome over 275 provincial main street professionals to gather at the Westin Hotel in Downtown Rideau, 11 Colonel by Drive, for the three-day 2019 OBIAA Conference. OBIAA supports and advocates for its members through strong relationships and partnership development.

In regard to issues impacting our communities and the health and vitality of our downtown and major commercial areas, the objective of the OBIAA Community Builders Beyond Banners & Benches conference is to educate and share best practices and provide resources, workshops and training to our dedicated board members and staff.

With 22 sessions in total and $20,000 worth of high value speakers and content, this year the conference features world-class presenters Peter Kenyon, Larisa Ortiz, Shawn Micallef and Rebecca Cotter. This is a substantial opportunity for engagement with the OBIAA community, encouraging professional development and supplying an exceptional educational opportunity including several mobile tours of popular Ottawa BIA neighbourhoods.

The DRBIA promotes Downtown Rideau as a shopping, dining, cultural, and tourism destination and advocates for its economic viability within the City of Ottawa. DRBIA Executive Director Peggy DuCharme sits as a Director on the OBIAA board.
