Sarah Thawer is a self-taught drummer based in Toronto, Canada. She started playing drums at age 2 and her first stage performance was at age 5. Sarah has shared the stage and played with many popular artists including AR Rahman, Tyler Shaw, Ruth B, Jeremy Ledbetter, Roger and Sam Grandison to name a few.

Transportive and evocative, Kamancello unite the Kurdish kamanche with the classical cello transcending genres, tradition, and cultural boundaries. Kamancello is comprised of Shahriyar Jamshidi (kamanche) and Raphael Weinroth-Browne (cello). Recorded in one take, their self-titled debut album, which includes 6 improvised pieces, has been met with unanimous critical acclaim.
