The Loft Board Game Lounge

If you’re into gaming, either board or video, you most definitely have to check out sister establishments, The Loft and Level One.

Housed in a 150 year old heritage building, both specialize in providing a comfortable atmosphere for gaming along with an eclectic selection of food, cocktails and craft beer.

Featured weekly events include Geek Trivia, Rainbow Road and the classic Dungeons and Dragons. These combined with a friendly staff, have helped to build a loyal base of regular customers, a community really.

Head Chef Jordan Merrit strives to present a menu of regionally inspired dishes with a focus on house-made ingredients that will appeal to a broad variety of guests. Specialities include tangy Pork and Chicken Pot Stickers, a mile-high Garden Burger (tasty chickpea and carrot patty, not store bought!) and their mouthwatering Southwest Chicken Salad.

Jordan shares a memorable moment … “Shortly after we opened Level One, we found that during the day we didn’t have as many customers, and often there would be only a small handful at any given time. The moments when a new game would be released, especially a video game (which all staff were excited about!) were always a great time. One of our staff members had pre-ordered a Nintendo Switch, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. He picked it up the morning of release day and brought it in to the restaurant. He tried to stay out of the way and play on his own, but the hype of the game was so great that staff who were not scheduled came in to check it out, and even some of our customers were mesmerized watching him play, rather than playing their own games.”
