Click on the caption with the image to jump to the Rideau Lore.  The mural boxes are part of the Downtown Rideau Culture Walk self-guided public art Walking Tour.

These Mural Boxes are a commemorative exhibit celebrating Canada’s sesquicentennial 150th birthday in 2017 produced by the Downtown Rideau Business Improvement Area (B.I.A.) as part of its public art program in partnership with the City of Ottawa.  The inaugural series installed in the fall of 2016, entitled Auntie Mame, is a collection of digital collages based on the spirit of the 1958 film of the same name. The exhibit expanded in 2017 to include the Kingdoms Crossed series, which is inspired through the genres of graffiti, street and pop art, using bold colours, stencils and spray paint.
